The Carpenters 1973 visit to the Nixon White House
The Carpenters second visit to the White House, 1 May 1973. President Nixon requested the group to perform for visiting West German chancellor Willy Brandt.
This visit landed right in the heat of the Watergate scandal. Richard Carpenter would later comment that after Karen passed away, former President Nixon sent a handwritten letter to the family expressing his condolences.

Ticket To Ride & Intro - Carpenters 1972 'Live In Australia'
Просмотров 54 тыс.16 лет назад
Carpenters and their 1969 single 'Ticket To Ride' performed live. Also, Richard gives quite an interesting introduction into how the Carpenters produce their live sound as opposed to how it is created on their studio recordings... pretty cool. 1972. Great clip from an episode of Dharma & Greg entitled 'Wish We Weren't Here'. Pat Benatar appears as herself in the episode singing the Carpenters 'We've Only Just Begun' at an impromptu wedding being held in an airport. 'Love Is A Battlefield' is also partially sung near the end of the clip. Enjoy! Visit www.GoCarpenters.com to help induct the Carpenters into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!

Keep in mind that by the Carpenters 3rd album (and successive albums)they were enlisting the services of Hal Blaine (Wrecking Crew) on drums. If she truly was that great, they would not have used Hal. I'm not saying that Karen wasn't an exceptional drummer, but there certainly were better drummers out there.
He blinks so slowly. Did he always do this? Cause it’s doing something to me.
Sure. Better than Bonham😂😂😂😑😑 it's cool tho. Keep feeding the feminist agenda.
これどうやって撮影しているの? 凄い。凄すぎる!!合成映像にしてはどうやってドラムの音を合わせているの??。 カレン・カーペンターのこういう秘蔵のお宝映像もっと観たい!!
Good promo video. 👍
This is the drum and bass existed before electronic music
Dear Ricky Nelson fans. Yesterday I released a cover of Lonesome Town. I'd be glad if you'd listen to it. 😊 Have a nice day. ruclips.net/video/XEh5ReTZtJ8/видео.html
Another GREAT BUSINESSMAN
THIS MOMENT IN TIME: SHOULD I LIVE/SHOULD I NOT??? DENIED MS NERO'S VOICE ON MY SONGS> DENIED CHANCE MEETING(BRONXITES)"ONLY THE BEST WILL DO> OTHERS IN SAME LEAGUE " NO REPLY"(( BEATLES))) OR PASSED AWAY( , NO MIRACLE HERE OR ANYWHERE FOR MYSELF!! IF ONLY " MIRACLES" WERE REALITY BASED< NOT FABLES OF FAITH> WOULD I HAVE CROSSED HER PATH(BORN IN BRONX NY(GRAND CONCOURSE & JEROME AVE/WYTHE PL. AREA)< THOUGH SAME GENERATION< STRIVING TO MAKE A MARK AMATEUR MUSICIANS(HER VOCALS, PIANO & COMP GENIUSES GIFTS VS> MY REALLY KOOL TENOR SAX MAN/SONG WRITING EVOLUTION)> ( ORCHESTRA/BAND /JAZZ H.S. GROUPS & BASEMENT BAND(THE ROLLING TONES)>HE VOICE/M SONG!!
Mis her but her songs wil be forever!
Karen was so talented and her voice was hauntingly beautiful. She had it all beauty, talent and her voice and The Carpenters will always stay with us. ❤❤
This blatantly is where Phil Collins got the concert tom bug from
I would have married her in a different time.
I be willing to bet that ,that woman could sit in with any band and play drums , including hard rock like Led Zeppelin, and other hard rock , or at least lay down pretty good drums . And the fact she can sing too so cool . I hope female drummers get inspiration from her .
Tundra, ladies and germs🎩🥸
I need to be in love. That was what she was trying to say in that song so that she could keep going on.
female singing GOAT
Te amo karen
Great voice, even better drummer ❤️❤️

It is so obvious that Karen was more joyful to play drums than singing, even though she had a voice of an angel. It is so sad we lost such well rounded talent musician. No one can replace her even now. She was depressed because she could not be herself.
You should react to Karen's drum videos. You can see the joy in her face doing what she loved the most. ruclips.net/video/sdHyzGXAJPg/видео.html
Wow never heard this gem before!
She would sound great with some prog metal today.
😮😮
She actually looks happy playing drums
Producer: “Hey Karen, we had enough in the budget for four full drum kits plus a gong, tubular bells and dozens of other drums, congas, cymbals and miscellaneous percussion instruments!” Karen: “That’s fantastic! How many thrones did we get?” Producer: “Just the one, you’ll need to move it around.”
Hey Neil ❤ check .this out bro . John Bonham . Karen .❤
How did I not realize the guy carrying the bass drum was John Denver? God, such a duo...
caroline corr making comments on another great drummer. Nice
Wow, I never knew that she is such an amazing drummer AND able to sing at the same time. WoW!!!!! Looks like many of the most talented musicians have to die young, such a pitty. RIP Jimmy, Prince, Amy, Whitney, Michael, Bob, Jannis,.................................................. if there is a musician department in heaven, then PLEASE GOD let me end up there, they need groopies too
I hate old TV shows. Because it’s obvious that the only sound you hear is the studio recordings. And here she looks like she’s playing the drums, but you can hear the drums being played even when she’s not playing them.
unbelievable!!!!!
Why did she get distracted with singing? Imagine her live looping entire dancefloor hits and singing the hook with present day looping gear
How did they do the 2 Karen composite at this time in TV history? Blue screen 5:00
She is why I started playing guitar. I knew I couldn't keep up with her on drums.
Corney
She was just so beautiful! Don't ever let anyone criticize you for your talents! They never should have treated her the way they did!!!
And she could sing as well, oy could she sing ❤
70s 8track and headphones and Carpenters at top of the pile she helped me learn to sing but her benchmark was too high and unmatched
Grandiosaaaa!!!
Ze magic of tell lie vision!
Vietnamerica...
I saw Karen Carpenter sing and drum in 1972. Check out her doing a cover of the Beatles Help here on RUclips--you will be amazed
This is the worst editing job ever! How can someone take such great footage & then chop it up in such a disjointed way? There’s a long stretch with no edits, other times there are edits every 2 seconds that cut off song passages in mid-phrase. Would love to see this video in the hands of an even halfway competent video editor.
Damn! Karen!!!❤
A solo? Not! FAKE!
